Liquor License

One of the hardest licenses in Florida. We guide you through the ABT process, from beer and wine to full liquor.

Who needs this

Restaurants and bars adding alcohol, retailers selling packaged beer and wine, and buyers acquiring an existing licensed business. The right path depends heavily on what and how you plan to sell.

What we handle
  • License type strategy: beer and wine vs. full liquor for your model
  • Applications with the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco
  • Quota license questions, including transfers of existing licenses
  • Zoning and local approvals tied to alcohol sales
  • Coordination with your other licenses (food service, COU, tax receipts)
Common questions

Why is full liquor so much harder than beer and wine?

Full liquor retail licenses in Florida are limited in number per county under a quota system, so they are scarce and often acquired by transfer. Beer and wine licenses do not have that scarcity. We help you decide whether your concept truly needs full liquor.

I am buying a bar that already has a license. Am I set?

The license has to be properly transferred and the location approvals confirmed. Assuming it "comes with the business" without verifying is a classic and expensive mistake.
